TO ORDER
Our CATALOG includes a "Shopping Cart".
You may add items to your "Shopping Cart" directly from the
price list at the bottom of each product page. Also, in our instruction
pages where materials are listed for a project, you can add the item
and the required quantity to your shopping cart. Your shopping cart
is only accessible from these pages, but you may view and modify the
contents of your cart at any time during your visit, prior to checking
out. Your order does not arrive to us until you have clicked the "SEND
ORDER" button at the very end (the very last step in the process).
By entering all your information you can view your total order value
with Shipping charges before you send the order and you can change your
mind any time prior to "sending" the order to us.
You
may view and shop our entire site in either Canadian dollars
or U.S. Dollars. At the top of each price list you
will see a heading stating which currency is shown, and a link to toggle
to the other currency. To shop and view our prices in the shopping cart
in either currency, simply toggle the currency used by clicking on the
link. When you check out, your total will be shown in the chosen currency
and your purchase will be transacted in that currency. This means that
U.S. customers will no longer have to pay a charge to their credit card
company for a transaction in a foreign currency.
Alternately, if you are a resident of the United States and wish to place an order in U.S. dollars and not pay duties or worry about exchange, you may order from our U.S. Only website.
You can also order using the ORDER FORM, a
quick method for those who know the item numbers of what they wish to
order. Submitting the order form will, however, take you to the Shopping
Cart page, which will display a list of the items you ordered so that
you may confirm them.
Our Printable price lists are available from the Price
List pages, both Canadian and U.S.
and our policies on SHIPPING & RETURNS.
Our site incorporates a Canada Post Shipping module to calculate your
shipping cost based on the weight of your order and where you live.
You will have shipping options that will affect the speed of delivery
and cost. Please note that the slowest is not always the cheapest. We
recommend you select a "Traceable" method if your order is
worth more than $100.00
Through out the site you may see different icons, these offer you opportunities
to view a Consumer Report on our company that tells you the serviced
we offer and what previous customers have thought of us. Once you have
completed the ordering process you to will be able to file a Consumer
Report on your experience. This option will come on your screen following
your "Sending" an order, at the same time you receive an on-screen
confirmation that the order was sent. The next confirmation you will
receive is an e-mail copy of your Invoice, this will be sent to you
after your order has been processed and will include the shipping date.
If you do not receive one of these within about 48 hours please contact
us.
Another option you will have is to join our e-mail list. We do not
send out mass e-mails often or at regular intervals, only when we have
new products, web up-dates or sales to announce…..and the sales
are often for our e-mail list members only! So do consider signing up.
Frequently asked Questions "FAQ's"
Q. Can you ship to the States/England/Finland? How much does
this cost?
A. Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping cost is based on weight
of the order and destination. Use the Shopping Cart or Order Form and
follow all the prompt to get to the final page. You will be able to
see the full cost of your order including the shipping and the order
will not be sent to us until you click SEND ORDER so you can see the
total cost without actually placing the order.
Q. Can I get the order TOMORROW?
A. Well, you can get almost anything if you are willing to pay
the price. The answer depends on time of day here in Ontario and where
you are located. If you call before noon Eastern Standard Time and are
located in Canada then "Yes", it can be done but will be costly.
Select Priority Courier from the shipping options. If you are outside
of Canada it is a possibility but cannot be guaranteed despite what
couriers may tell you because the package has to go through your country's
Customs and this is where the delay will happen if it does. Note: Choose
the Purolator Courier option and understand that on top of the fee you
will be charged by us there may be Brokerage and Duty Fees. Generally
courier comes out being about 3-5 times the cost!
Q. What Duty and Taxes will I face when I order from you?
A. Duty and Taxes are dictated by your country so we have no
way of knowing this. As a rule when goods go by Post there is no Duty
unless the package is valued at more than $500.00 this seems to be true
for the USA, Australia and some of Europe but does not tend to apply
to England. Goods going by courier get charged Duty on anything valued
over $5.00 and get a Brokerage Fee tacked on as well.
The rate of Duty varies by item and country and can be anywhere from
3% to 25%! For this reason we use the Postal Service.
Taxes can be the responsibility of the state and again there is no
rule, however the rate of tax will be the equivalent of the usual "sales
tax" charged in the area that you live.

Q. Since Farthingales is a Canadian company and charges in Canadian
Dollars how can I buy from you when I am not in Canada? How does currency
exchange work?
A. Your credit card company handles the currency exchange for
you/us. You place your order and the amount shown will be in Canadian
Funds, we invoice you in Canadian Funds and the Canadian amount is called
in to your Credit Card company, the Credit Card company does the conversion
based on the rate at the moment of the transaction. The Credit Card
receipt that you will receive with your order will be in Canadian Funds.
When you get the Credit Card Statement Farthingales will be listed and
next to our name will be the amount we charged along with the exchange
rate used by the Credit Card company for the conversion. In the balance
column will be the amount in your own currency that the Credit Card
company requires you to pay, this is your actual cost.
