A cotton/viscose petersham ribbon, this ribbon
has more flexibility than polyester versions commonly found
on the market today. This can be shaped to a curve and will
cover the rim of a hat brim with relative ease. Use as foundation
for neck ruffs.
Bias Tape
Bias or biais tape is NOT sticky tape. Bias tape is fabric
which has been cut on the bias of the fabric rather than with
the grain or across the grain. The advantage of bias tape is
that is can bind a curved edge without puckering or pulling.
It can also be used to make piping or covered cording by being
sewn around a cord. Our bias tape is 100% cotton and comes in
white or black and in three widths. Our bias tape has no folds
so you can use it any way you need to.

We have in the past had two types of cable cord, a limp one
and one with lots of body. Now we stock one type only and
that
is the better quality one. It is a 3 ply twist and is 100%
cotton and comes in three sizes.
Flat lacing is weaker than the round but still of decent quality.

All lacings above are the same size and style, only the fibre
differs. Polyester is very strong; rayon has a lovely sheen.
None of these corset laces are guaranteed for dyeing. The cotton
and rayon will die with varying degrees of success. Polyester
fibers never dye well with domestic dyes.
Lacing tips are sold by the foot and are actually a shrinkable
tube.
20-7070-00 clear
1/8"diameter before shrinking
Cut a piece of tubing about ¾" long. Using a needle and thread
bind the end of a lace, do not cut the thread! Drop the needle
through the piece of tube and tug gently until the cord end
is well within the tube. Hold the tube close to a candle flame
or hot iron; be careful not to touch either. The tube will begin
to shrink and tighten around the cord. Let cool and cut off
excess tube. Repeat with opposite end of cord.
Twill Tape
Twill tape does not have the stiffness or weight required
for a waistband, it can however be used in a corset to reinforce
the waist, which is a high stress area. It is also useful for
making hoop steel casings in farthingales, hoop skirts etc.
Not to mention hanging loops and label loops. We stock both
100% cotton and 100% polyester twill tapes.
